1 generous cup raw hazelnuts

1 1/2 tsp hazelnut extract

1/4 tsp vanilla extract

3/4 cup powdered sugar

1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, regular or Dutch

6-10 tbsp peanut oil
Steps
- Heat the oven to 300 degrees F.
- Toast the hazelnuts for 8-10 minutes until fragrant and the skin begins to peel.
- Straight out of the oven, roll the hazelnuts in a course dish towel and rub them vigorously to remove the skins.
- Pulse the hazelnuts in a food processor until they form an oily paste, similar to marzipan.
- Stop often to scrape down the sides of the food processor.
- Add the extracts, sugar, and cocoa powder and pulse to combine.
- Add 4 tbsp (1/4 cup) of oil, continuing to pulse and scrape.
- Drizzle in oil, one tbsp at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.
- Store in the refrigerator.
