227 g (1 cup) softened butter

100 g (1/2 cup) granulated sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 egg

284 g (2 cups) all-purpose flour

Coarse sugar, for sprinking
Steps
- Beat the butter and sugar until fluffy on medium speed.
- Beat in salt, vanilla, and egg.
- At low speed, gradually add the flour, scraping the bowl as you go.
- Transfer the dough to a piping bag with a star tip (Ateco 827) and pipe onto lined baking sheets.
- Freeze the piped cookies.
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Bake 15-17 minutes, until lightly browned at the edges.
