Oat Scones
Ingredients

1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 tsp salt

3/4 tsp baking soda

1 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cut into pieces

3/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

1/2 cup dried currants, or chocolate chips

2/3 - 3/4 cup buttermilk
Steps
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cinnamon.
- Add butter and cut in using a pastry blender until the mixture resembles course crumbs.
- Stir in oats and currants or chocolate chips.
- Add buttermilk and stir until the dough just comes together.
- Transfer to a lightly flowered surface and knead a few times, then pat into a circle. Cut the circle into wedges, and place on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 15-18 until lightly browned. Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
