Ingredients
- 2 tbsp canola oil
- 3 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 yellow onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cup green lentils
- 2 cups vegetable broth
Steps
- Heat the oil and sauté the cumin and pepper flakes for about a minute.
- Add the onion, garlic, and salt and sauté for another minutes.
- Add the lentils, both, and 2 cups of water.
- Simmer, covered for about 25 minutes until the lentils are tender.
