Lentils

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp canola oil
  • 3 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cup green lentils
  • 2 cups vegetable broth

Steps

  • Heat the oil and sauté the cumin and pepper flakes for about a minute.
  • Add the onion, garlic, and salt and sauté for another minutes.
  • Add the lentils, both, and 2 cups of water.
  • Simmer, covered for about 25 minutes until the lentils are tender.
